New laminate tubes from TricorBraun were designed to help manufacturers squeeze out up to 20% additional savings over traditional extruded tubes. Accord-ing to the company, not only are laminate tubes more economical, these are also manufactured with a new technology that reduces the appearance of the seam. The seam in a conventional extruded tube, says a company spokesperson, is a design deterrent and is regarded as an important shortcoming by cosmetic manufacturers. Graphic improvements are possible with the laminate tubes because they can be printed flat. This gives manufacturers the opportunity to use holographic embellishments, which were never possible with extruded tubes.
